This course is for graduates/therapists who would like to take their career into the teaching field. Individuals who pass this course will be entitled to be a lecturer on courses leading to ITEC or Nationally recognised qualifications.
The Diploma in Education and Training Level 5 (NFQ level 7) consists of 7 modules. Within each module there will be a number of assignments and projects to complete. Assignments and projects for each module will make up your Education and Training portfolio which will be submitted to Academy One and ITEC.
Course content includes the following:

→ 30 hours of teaching observations
→ 50 hours of teaching practice

→ Module 5 Assignments– Inclusive Practice
→ Module 6 Assignments- Teaching in a Specialist Area
→ Module 7 Assignments- Developing, Using and Organizing Resources Within a Specialist Area
As it is essential and compulsory for trainee lecturers to observe good practice in the learning environment, Academy One is committed to offering these 30 hours observation and 50 hours teaching in our college. Our tutors at Academy One who themselves has successfully completed and obtained an ITEC Diploma in Education and Training will guide and support you throughout the course.
The Diploma is awarded on successful completion of lectures, observation and teaching hours, assignments and assessments, there are no exams.
Pre-requisite: Students must hold an ITEC qualification or approved equivalent and must have 2 years experience in the Area you wish to teach
